Most definitely a 1 day tour is the recommendation. See all points of interest with the safety of an experienced driver. Lunch and morning tea included. Pay in full before arrival and be picked up from Inskip or else just pay a deposit on booking then pay the balance in full to the driver (you will need to drive into Rainbow Beach for the pick up).

If any kids have a car child seat or booster seat just take that with you as they have all the restraint points etc.. in place for these on the bus.

Prices are $199 for adults and $119 for children 4 – 14 years (children under 4 years are free).

We don’t recommend hiring a 4wd to self drive as Fraser is a lot bigger than people realise and cannot be seen in 1 day due to tide times and harshness of the soft sand.

Double Island PT

If you have your own 4wd you can drive to Double Island Point at low tide on any day you choose (Check with local knowledge that the rocks are passable as they do change).

Drive onto the beach at Rainbow and then it’s a beautiful 15 min drive up the beach to the Point. Most important is that it MUST be done at low tide only.

Here you could do your own walk around the point and the rocks to explore rock pools etc.. or wander up to the lighthouse for incredible views of the region.

Surf & Sand Safaris

Do half day tours from Rainbow Beach up to Double Island Point and the lighthouse then back along the inland Freshwater track. Along the way you will experience the spectacular coloured sands of Rainbow.

$80 adults and $50 child (14 years and under) including morning or afternoon tea.

They also have the key to the lighthouse track so are the only operator who can actually drive to the top rather than having to walk up.

They use standard 4WD vehicles rather than a bus.

Kayaking & Paddleboarding tours with Epic Ocean

Approximately a 2 hour kayaking adventure around Double Island Point. Options are to self drive to the point or alternatively be transported by the tour operator.

Departure times vary according to when low tide is on the day. Minimum age for this tour is 4 – 5 years. They also have an alternative calm water ‘turtle tour’ using kayaks or stand up paddleboards (your choice) with a minimum age of 3-4 years (so long as child can sit upright and sit through a 1.5 hour guided tour).

Dolphin Feeding

Is a 25 minute drive to Tin Can Bay to the dolphin centre.

You need to be there by 7:30am for feeding. $5 entry to the centre and $5 to feed them.

Beach horse riding

Often have 2 rides per day dependent on bookings. Usually around 10am and 2pm. Approximately a 2 hour experience. They are based in Rainbow Beach. They go through a short bush track and then out onto the beach for the rest of the ride. Minimum age is 10 years unless experienced.

The beach ride is $200 per person. Young riders under 10 also have the option of just having a short lead horse ride around the stables for $20.

Fishing rod hire

Rainbow Beach offers great fishing. For a variety of species including Bream, whiting, flathead, tailor, trevally and jewfish.

So why not hire a rod and try your luck.

$20 per person and includes a rod and basic tackle box for the duration of your stay

Why not include a massage on your holiday intinerary.

Let yourself completely relax and unwind with one of our qualified local therapists.

Prices start from $80 per hour

Carlo Sand Blow

We also recommend a walk to our Carlo Sand Blow. Located on the top of the hill in Rainbow Beach – a spectacular open sand area reaching across the top of the hill with incredible views to Double Island Point on one side and out across to Tin Can Bay, the ocean and the mountains on the other side.

Very popular at sunset to watch the sun go down behind the mountains. Easy 15 minute bush track walk. (Take a bottle of wine and glasses with you for sunset).

Don’t forget your boogie boards to take advantage of the sand boarding down the dunes.
